shoulder, but that is i ne for now, as we can use this to help further dei ne
the shoulder later in the chapter.
Now simply adjust the vertices to achieve the clavicle shape seen in
Figure 6.18 f.
(Tip: If you are unsure how this area should look, refer to your reference
materials.)
The clavicle is now in place, and while building it we cleaned up the topology
above her chest.
Shoulders
Next, we will move on to her shoulders and work in the main deltoid muscles.
We will work on these now, rather than in the arms section, because we will
need to see how the topology forms around those areas, especially where the
shoulder and upper torso meet.
First, we will work on the pectoral muscle that connects the main chest to the
shoulder. We are looking for a nice arc moving from her upper breast to the
front of her armpit.
Following Figure 6.19, move to just under the arm. We need to alter the l ow
of the polygons, bending them as they connect with the torso so they run
down the body.
Select the edges highlighted in Figure 6.19b, around the front of the
armpit, and apply a Bevel to open them up.
FIG. 6.19
Alter the topology to bend the fl ow of polygons down the body.
