In-Depth Information
Now 4pm, you'll probably notice how many of the museums and other attractions are clos-
ing. It doesn't seem fair, but them's the breaks - there's plenty more to see, naturally.
Turn around and head back the other way down Setthathirath and reach a three-way inter-
section just past the presidential palace. (Take a peek in, if and where you can - it's not
open to the public, but offers a great glimpse into how the colonial-style architecture can
be renovated...)
Turn left, walk 150 meters, and turn right to walk along what I'll call the river road. Fa
Ngoum is the proper road name, but you may not see any street signs with that name.
Note: This walk shouldn't take more than 10 minutes - this is your chance to meander a bit,
put your feet up, or just cool off a bit. You win bonus points if you find the fountain and
the fountain park - a good landmark on the eastern side of town.
5:00 pm -- River road meandering - or, relaxing in your hotel
Price: FREE
Duration: 1 hour
Address: Fa Ngoum road, Vientiane
