The sand dune image below is another example of extreme lighting
conditions exposed with highlight preference and lost information in
the shadows (indicated by the thin line up the left side of the histogram.)
Although another scene may fall apart with this exposure, the mood and
lighting ef ects in this scene make the exposure work well for the image
overall.
