Note:

some new SLRs record!
Adobe Bridge CS4 is a powerful and easy-to-use visually-oriented media
manager, organizer, i le browser, and navigational tool. Bridge of ers much of
the same functionality as the Lightroom Library Module, however Bridge does
not require the importing or exporting of data in order to use it. Bridge can
be used to visually browse all the images on your computer and external hard
drives instantly. For this reason alone, Bridge remains an essential component
of the integrated workl ow process. If you work with images frequently in
Photoshop, Bridge can be invaluable in expediting workl ow. Additionally, if
you know both Bridge and Lightroom, you can use Bridge to process a batch
of raw images in the background, which frees up Lightroom for other tasks.
Use Lightroom as an image database and primary digital darkroom in the
integrated workl ow. Use Bridge as your image navigational tool for locating
images with any format visually and for launching them into Photoshop when
you are not working in Lightroom, and for background batch processing. As
Bridge and Lightroom share the same camera raw engine, and Bridge has the
capability to do many of the same workl ow tasks we outlined in Lightroom
(although not as ei cient and with fewer features,) for the specii c focus of this
text we have bypassed the redundancy and outlined an overview of Bridge
for its usefulness in the integrated workl ow process.
