3. Survey View
The Survey View in the Library Module allows you to compare any number
of images side by side in the Library Module. This is a great way to compare
the overall composition of images shot in a series. First select the images you
wish to survey and then click on the main window icon number 1, and select
Survey from the drop-down menu, or go to View Survey.
Survey mode can also be accessed from the Lightroom secondary display
window by clicking on the 2 icon or, if you are already in the secondary
display window, click the survey icon at the top left.

4. Compare View
The Compare View allows you to quickly sort through a sequence of similar
images to i nd the sharpest and best composition, and rank the images
accordingly. I usually move images into the Compare View after I have made
an initial edit. The Compare View places one image as a selected image and
the other as the candidate. You can zoom into both images simultaneously, to
the exact same location or separate locations on each image.
Access the Compare View by clicking on the 1 icon and choosing Compare, or
click the 2 icon and choose “Compare”.
The lock feature icon will keep them together when locked and allow separate
view zooms when unlocked.
