Daedeok Bio-Community consisted of 14 venture firms. It is a group whose
purpose is developing competitiveness through co-work, information exchange,
and joint marketing. The local agency of regional innovation gave its full support
for the establishment of Bio-cluster with the close collaboration of national Bio-
tech Institute in Daedeok Innopolis, because this sector of industry is the driving
force for future development of Daedeok Innopolis in the twenty first century. This
pattern of clustered development, through which venture firms are collaborating
with one another, is very meaningful in terms of an alternative business model. It
can facilitate the SME's competitiveness in the market of specialized industrial
sectors (Fig. 10 ).
