The Millennium Dome
The Millennium Dome is situated in the Docklands and is one of London's most recogniz-
able and controversial landmarks. It was designed by Richard Rogers and was constructed as
part of London's Millennium celebrations, along with the Millennium Bridge and the Lon-
don Eye.
It is a dome-shaped building white marquee supported by twelve towers and is the world's
largest single-roof structure.
The Dome was opened to the public in the year 2000 and it was divided into zones which
included 'Faith', 'Body', 'Money', 'Mind' and 'Learning' as well as a central staging area.
While all of the original exhibition and associated complex has since been demolished, the
canopy or shell of the dome still exists, and it is now a key exterior feature of the O2 enter-
tainment district.
It is definitely a brilliant venue for hosting concerts
