How to Get a Cheap Flight:
If you are reading this topic on your way to London by an international flight, you have
obviously already purchased a ticket, so just save up the tips for your next trip. If you are
reading this before purchasing your ticket, make sure you don't pay too much! A couple of
bucks saved on your flight have better value when invested in a nice hotel.
Do's:
Fly when the others don't! Check flights on Sunday to Thursday as they are often
cheaper than those on Fridays and Saturdays!
Avoid holidays and the peak season in December / January when prices are much
higher.
Check all your nearby departure airports as there might be a chance for a special
deal, already sold out at your favorite airport.
Check flight search engines. E.g.
www.skyscanner.net
www.cheaptickets.com
www.cheapflights.com
www.Checkfelix.com
…..or Google it!
Don'ts
Don't use travel agencies. They need their profit margins and there is nothing they
can do better than you!
Don't book too early and don't book too late. Pricing depends on pricing strategy of
the airlines and on demand. This makes it naturally difficult to guess the right time
to book; tickets are best bought around three months before departure date.
