“112” is a combined line, which connects to Police, Ambulance and Fire/Rescue services.
Rule Number One: Do not turn your brain off just because you are on Holidays. You can
reduce the risk of getting a victim by use the same common sense as at home.
London is like many big cities suffering from a variety of problems like social issues, drug
abuse, theft and begging. However, do not get me wrong.
London is a safe place to visit, but do not forget that crime happens!
What can you do to stay safe?
Firstly, why not leave belongings that you do not use in your Hotel room (safe)? If you want
to showcase your wealth with expensive watches, phones, necklaces then at least avoid wan-
dering around in dark little frequented areas at night. Use a Taxi instead to drive home from
your Bar / Club or cinema late at night.
If you stay in the more frequented areas then most likely, no troubles will happen.
The main problem right throughout London to various degrees is drunken behavior, particu-
larly on Friday and Saturday nights and after football matches.
If you are harassed, simply ignore and walk away from those concerned. Trouble spots can
be expected around popular drinking locations such as Soho and in various suburban cen-
ters.
Warning(s):
A common scam takes place every night in Soho Area where attractive ladies make friend
on the street with single male travelers to have a beer in one of the red light bars. They might
have a strip show there as well. Don't be surprised to be forced to pay a couple of hundreds
