The aerial imagery is now visible and adds considerable detail to
the model.
This exercise allowed you to explore one example of how InfraWorks can aggre-
gate many different data types to form a rich model. The lighting, water effects,
graphical quality, and other aspects of InfraWorks make this model beautiful,
interesting, and informational. This model could serve as a powerful tool to
imagine, visualize, discuss, propose, and simulate many types of improvements
to the city of San Francisco. That is the power of the InfraWorks model.
navigating the Infraworks Model
One of the first skills you will need to develop when working with InfraWorks is
navigating the model. After all, the model isn't much good to you if you can't
focus on specific locations or show the model from a viewpoint that tells the
story you want to tell. In this section, we'll discuss three basic methods for
navigating the model: mouse navigation, ViewCube navigation, and navigation
by selection. We will also cover the use of bookmarks to save key views in your
model so that you can quickly call them up.
