exercise 6.5: Capture Your design with Create
snapshot and render Model
In this exercise you are going to create a snapshot and a rendering of the indus-
trial park area of the model.
If you are continuing from the previous exercise, you can skip to step 3.
Otherwise, if you haven't already done so, go to the topic's web page at www
.sybex.com/go/infraworksessentials and download the files for Chapter 6.
Unzip the files to the correct location on your hard drive according to the
instructions in the introduction.
1. If it is not already open, launch InfraWorks.
2. On the Start Page, click Open and browse to C:\InfraWorks Essentials\
Chapter 06\ . Click Ch06 Bimsville Bypass.sqlite and click Open.
3. In the top-right corner of your screen, click the Proposals drop-down
list and select Ex_6_4_to_6_8.
4. Restore the Main Building Site bookmark.
5. If the Presentation toolbar is not already visible, click the
Presentation icon on the main toolbar.
6. On the Presentation toolbar, click Create Snapshot.
7. Click the ellipsis button next to File Name and browse to
C:\InfraWorks Essentials\Chapter 06\ . Enter Main
Building Site Snapshot and click Save.
8. Examine the other settings in the Camera Snapshot dialog and
click Save.
Note that you could have used the InfraWorks window resolution
rather than the default of 800 pixels 600 pixels. More than likely,
the viewport resolution would be higher than 800 600.
9. Use Windows Explorer to locate and open the file you have generated.
It should look similar to Figure 6.19.
