Infraworks
environment
If you're new to
Autodesk
®
InfraWorks™ software, what you are about to
experience is probably like nothing you've seen before. InfraWorks is differ-
ent—it is not a computer-aided drafting (CAD) program like the Autodesk
®
AutoCAD
®
or Autodesk
®
AutoCAD Civil 3D
®
programs. Unlike CAD pro-
grams, it is 100 percent 3D. It is stunning and immersive and makes plan-
ning and design more fun, exciting, and beautiful than it's ever been.
InfraWorks combines aspects of geographic information systems (GIS), 3D
visualization (as in the Autodesk
®
3ds Max
®
program), and civil engineering
design (as in AutoCAD Civil 3D) to create a powerful environment where you
can plan, design, and build your ideas. It is highly collaborative, providing
seamless access to the cloud, where you can share designs with anyone on
the planet. It is also mobile and can be taken to the field, allowing your ideas
to be envisioned at the exact location where they will one day become reality.
