wind speed The values on this slider go from 0 to 100. They
don't represent an actual speed; simply, 0 represents a still sky,
while 100 represents maximum speed.
Cloud Cover Like Wind Speed, the values on this slider go from
0 to 100, with 0 representing a clear sky and 100 representing dense
clouds. The Cloud Cover value does not affect the lighting of the
model, only the appearance of the sky.
exercise 6.4: explore sun & sky settings
In this exercise you are going to change several Sun & Sky settings and observe
the resulting changes to the appearance of the model.
If you are continuing from the previous exercise, you can skip to step 3.
Otherwise, if you haven't already done so, go to the topic's web page at www.sybex
.com/go/infraworksessentials and download the files for Chapter 6. Unzip the
files to the correct location on your hard drive according to the instructions in
the introduction.
1. If it is not already open, launch InfraWorks.
2. On the Start Page, click Open and browse to C:\InfraWorks Essentials\
Chapter 06\ . Click Ch06 Bimsville Bypass.sqlite and click Open.
3. In the top-right corner of your screen, click the Proposals drop-down
list and select Ex_6_4_to_6_8.
4. Restore the Town Limits bookmark.
5. On the main toolbar, click Settings And Utilities.
6. On the side toolbar, click Application Options.
7. Click Restore Defaults in the lower-left corner of the Application
Options dialog. Click OK.
This is to ensure that you get the expected results as you explore
the Sun & Sky settings.
8. On the main toolbar, click the Presentation icon.
9. If the Visual Effects asset card is not visible, click Visual Effects on
the Presentation toolbar.
10. On the Visual Effects asset card, in the Rendering Options section,
enable High Visual Quality.
