In-Depth Information
12. Change Terrain Opacity back to 100.
13. Click Rendering Options to collapse that section of the Visual Effects
asset card. If the Color Options section of the Visual Effects asset
card is not visible, click Color Options to expand it.
14. Adjust the Brightness, Contrast, and Light Intensity settings and
observe the results. When you are finished experimenting with these
values, set Brightness, Contrast, and Light Intensity back to 50, 50,
and 1, respectively.
You should find that, generally speaking, the model looks best
with these features set to the recommended values; however, based
on your monitor, graphics card, and other factors, you may desire to
make slight adjustments.
15. Change the Colorize setting to Grayscale and then to Sepia. Observe
the change to the appearance of the model with each choice. Set
Colorize back to Normal when you're finished.
The Grayscale setting should give your model a black-and-white
photo appearance, while the Sepia setting creates the gold color
effect of a very old photo.
16. If the Field Of View section is not visible, click Field Of View to expand it.
Click and drag the Field Of View slider until the value reads 120. Zoom
back in to the model and note how the change affects the appearance of
the model. Change this setting to 45 when you are finished.
When Field Of View is set to 120, you'll notice a much more dra-
matic narrowing effect for the portions of objects that are farther away
from you. While a wider field of view enables you to see more of the
model at once, it also distorts the view of the model to some extent.
Since you did not change the model in the exercise, there is no need for an
“end” version of the proposal.
working with sun & sky settings
With InfraWorks you have the ability to adjust Sun & Sky settings to simu-
late different dates, times, and weather conditions. This not only enhances
the visual quality and realism of your model but also has practical purposes.
Shadows, for example, are important to understand for heating, cooling, and
lighting purposes as well as for their visual impact on surrounding areas. And
of course, shadow conditions change as the date and time changes, so the abil-
ity to adjust for those factors is critical.
