material group can be applied to the fill style or outline style. When a material
group (covered later in this chapter) is chosen, InfraWorks simply applies the
first material listed in the material group. This configuration all takes place in
the Configure Coverage dialog (see FigureĀ 5.10), which is launched by clicking
the Edit icon in the Style Palette when a coverage style is selected. You should
also know that there is a preview area in the bottom portion of the dialog. You
can use this area to visualize what the coverage style will look like before you
actually use it in the model.

exercise 5.4: Create and edit Coverage styles
In this exercise you are going to modify a coverage style so that it utilizes the
Solid Black Asphalt material style you created in Exercise 5.2. Then you will
create a new coverage style using the Parking Stalls material style (created in
Exercise 5.3). You will utilize this new coverage style to lay out some parking
stalls in the industrial park parking lots.
If you are continuing from the previous exercise, you can skip to step 3.
Otherwise, if you haven't already done so, go to the topic's web page at www
.sybex.com/go/infraworksessentials and download the files for Chapter 5.
