exercise 4.7: work with City furniture
In this exercise you will insert city furniture to try to re-create the scene shown
in FigureĀ 4.39.
If you are continuing from the previous exercise, you can skip to step 3.
Otherwise, if you haven't already done so, go to the topic's web page at www
.sybex.com/go/infraworksessentials and download the files for Chapter 4.
Unzip the files to the correct location on your hard drive according to the
instructions in the introduction.
1. If it is not already open, launch InfraWorks.
2. On the Start Page, click Open and browse to C:\InfraWorks Essentials\
Chapter 04\ . Click Ch04 Bimsville Bypass.sqlite and click Open.
3. Select the Ex_4_7 proposal. You should see the model as it would
appear at the end of Exercise 4.6 with the inlets and pipes added and
modified.
4. Restore the bookmark named Exercise 4.7.
5. On the main toolbar, if the InfraWorks toolbar is not visible, click the
InfraWorks Home icon.
6. If the Create toolbar is not visible along the left side of your screen,
click the Create icon on the InfraWorks toolbar.
7. If surface opacity is toggled on from the previous exercise, click
Surface Opacity to turn it off.
8. On the Create toolbar, click City Furniture.
9. On the Select Draw Style asset card, type taxi in the filter area and
select 3D Model > Vehicles > Taxi.
10. Double-click a point in the model to insert the taxi.
11. Use a similar approach to continue inserting city furniture and modi-
fying it as necessary to re-create the scene in FigureĀ 4.39.
You can view the results of successfully completing this exercise by choosing
the Ex_4_7_End proposal.
