the Model doesn't Lie
Imagine a town meeting where the subject of a wind farm is brought up. While
the wind farm developer gives every assurance that the turbines will not impact
the pristine mountainous landscape, a concerned resident claims that the turbines
will be the first thing a person sees when entering Bimsville. Based on Figure 4.26,
he might be right. Before InfraWorks existed, expensive and time-consuming
sight analyses had to be performed to make this determination. Based on the
findings here, people in the town who are concerned about the visibility of the
wind turbines may want to consider moving the location to the next ridge. With
InfraWorks, that new proposal could be modeled and tested within a few minutes.
