turn on Adaptive Lod Adaptive LOD (level of detail) turns on more detail
as you get closer to an object or series of objects. When it is turned on, InfraWorks
will perform faster, but you will find that trees disappear as you zoom away
from your stand and reappear as you zoom closer. You can control this setting
in Model Explorer on a per-feature basis.
working with water features
You can draw two types of water features in InfraWorks: rivers and water areas.
A river is a linear path with a width defined by the Buffer Width setting. As you
might guess, rivers are used to define creeks, streams, ditches, channels, canals,
and, of course, rivers. A water area is a closed shape, so the buffer width is not
needed to define it, although it does serve a purpose as you'll learn later. Water
