In-Depth Information
has a Proximity Distance setting; with this setting, you can configure the point
of interest so that the tooltip appears when the user's viewpoint is within a
specified distance. Using this feature, you can set up your model so that tooltips
appear and disappear as you or another viewer navigates the model.
Creating Points of Interest
The Points of Interest tool is located with the other InfraWorks design tools. As you
probably recall, you access these tools by clicking the InfraWorks Home icon and
then the Create icon on the main toolbar (see Figure 4.1). The Select Draw Style
asset card will open with only one style type available: 3D Model. Any 3D model
style can be used for a point of interest, but a special POI folder within the 3D model
styles is available for “generic” markers such as flags, pushpins, and basic 3D shapes.

The Points Of Interest command can be launched by clicking the icons on the
order shown.
Once you have created a point of interest, you can use the Properties panel
to configure the tooltip. If you click the ellipsis button next to Tooltip, the Edit
Tooltip dialog will open (see Figure 4.2). Here you have a full set of formatting
tools on the Visual tab as well as some HTML editing tools on the HTML tab.
