gizmos
Similar to working with roads, edit mode must be activated to edit coverages.
Also, coverages have their own specialized gizmos to enable graphical editing.
Like you saw before, the purple box-shaped gizmos and the cyan cone-shaped
gizmos handle horizontal and vertical editing of the vertices, respectively.
However, in this section, I'll talk about some new graphical editing tools.
Vertex Location and elevation gizmos These gizmos adjust the horizontal
and vertical location of a coverage vertex much like they did for a road vertex.
the Move gizmo The move gizmo has four parts: three axis arrows (x, y,
and z) and a square in the x-y plane. If you click and drag an arrow, you will
move the entire coverage along that axis. If you click and drag the square, you
will move the coverage in the x-y plane only.
the rotate gizmo The rotate gizmo rotates the entire coverage around a
point near its center.
It is important to understand the editing behavior of coverages. When you
first create a coverage, its elevations will match the terrain across the entire
coverage, even in the middle (see FigureĀ 3.25).
