This process is carried for all windows, and the thresholded images are com-
bined to form a final image.

6.2.5 Locally Adaptive and Optimal Thresholding
A combination of adaptive and optimal thresholding gives better result. This
method determines optimal grey-level thresholding parameters in local sub-
regions for which local histograms are constructed.
6.2.5.1 Chow and Kaneko Method
According to Chow and Kaneko, the image is divided into an array of overlap-
ping subregions and the grey-level histogram is constructed for each subregion.
