Tena
In Tena, the tourist office is in the northern part of town, at Bolívar
and Amazonas, and there is an Internet café nearby. The pedes-
trian bridge connects the two halves of town and continues down Av.
15 de Noviembre south to the bus station. Another Internet café,
Piraña Net , is just southeast of the bridge on 9 de Octubre and
Tarqui (expect to wait awhile and pay a lot). The Andinatel commu-
nications office is on Olmedo and Juan Montalvo. There's a Banco
del Austro on 15 de Noviembre and Dias de Pineda (Visa and travel-
lers checks). If you're in Misahuallí, you'll need to go back to Tena for
these services.
Puyo
In Puyo, the capital of the Pastaza Province, the Andinatel commu-
nications office is located at Villamil andOrellana, and the post of-
fice is a block to the east, at 27 de Febrero, between Orellana and
Atahualpa. There is an Internet café nearby, on Calle Atahualpa.
The Casa de Cambio was on Atahualpa and 9 de Octubre,

/fax 3-883-064, but this may or may not still be there, so you
might want to call in advance. The Ministerio de Turismo is on the
fifth floor of the Centro Shopping Carmelita, on Ceslao Marín and 9
de Octubre.
Macas
In Macas, the Andinatel telephone office is at 24 de Mayo and
Sucre, and the post office is at 9 de Octubre and Comín, near the
main plaza, the church, and the Shuar Travel office. There is a Banco
del Austro at 24 de Mayo and 10 de Agosto (travelers checks and
Visa). The bus terminal is also centrally located on Amazonas and 10
de Agosto. There is a small regional airport at Amazonas andCuenca.
