Post Offices, Call Centers
& Internet Access
Though there are many post office branches in Quito, the
main branch in New Town is located at Av. Colón and
Almagro, openMon-Fri from 7:30 to 5 and for the first half
of the day on Saturday. There is also one at the airport. In
the Old City, the main branch is on Espejo, between Guayaquil and
Venezuela, and between New and Old Cities there is a branch behind
the Santa Clara market at Ulloa and Dávalos.

The Andinatel office for international telephone calls in New Town
is at 10 de Agosto and Colón, 2-2507-691 or 2-2509-025, and is open

from 8 am to 10 pm. There are also branches at the international air-
port terminal and at the Terminal Terrestre (bus station).

Internet cafés abound in the New City, around Amazonas, JL Mera
and Calama, offering easy and inexpensive communication options.
And some of them serve up tasty dishes and drinks.

Banks
Banks vary in the services provided. Many change travel-
ers checks, some offer ATM services, one may accept Visa
while another works with MasterCard, either through an
ATM or not. Banco del Pacífico has several branches.
The main one is located on Naciones Unidas, between Amazonas and
Shyris. There is another at Amazonas and Roca, and one in the mall
El Jardín, on Amazonas between Mariana de Jesús and República.
They change travelers checks (if you go later in the day, expect to wait
in line) and accept MasterCard through the ATM machine.
Filanbanco , at Amazonas and Robles, accepts Visa through the
ATMmachine and offers teller cash advances. Banco dePichincha ,
at Amazonas and Colón, offersVisa cash advances. They also have a
branch in the old city, near the Plaza de la Indepencia on Venezuela.
Banco Guayaquil is on Colón and Reina Victoria, 3rd floor; they
have a Visa ATM, with larger advances available through a teller. If
