In general, young animals are more likely to have PH or PPM
(Figs. 10 , 14 , and 41 ). In one report the prevalence of hyaloid
remnants may be as high as 60 % at 6 weeks of age, but decrease to
less than 17 % by 1 year of age [ 26 , 52 , 53 ]. In mice, the prevalence
of a PH has been reported to range between 28 and 32 % with a
