A highly poisonous Komodo dragon, the world's largest monitor lizard, stalks
across a hillside on the Indonesian island of Rinca. Larger versions of these dragons that
roamed the nearby island of Flores were hunted by the tiny people known as Hobbits who
lived there from at least 90,000 down to 11,000 years ago. Who were these people, how did
they master such incredible challenges, and what might we have in common with them?
