stage of remote collaborative search, by offering rich visualizations of both the search process and products.

additional high-value collaboration scenarios, as well as further our understanding of what tasks are
common across multiple populations. The study of and reflection on the underlying structure of
tasks (e.g., ( Bates, M. , 1979a , b ; Evans and Chi , 2008 )) is another valuable avenue for further inves-
tigation, as understanding what aspects of tasks involve interactions with others may be indicative
of which features will be most highly valued in collaborative search systems.
