With its brightly painted frontage, Ginger Lyly draws
a hip crowd on the look-out for groovy clothes and
accessories. Vivid T-shirts and off-the-wall bags
feature along with chintzy jewellery and raggedy hats.
Walls host exhibitions by local artists and there is
always some up-to-the-minute music in the air.

The brightly painted façades of these three adjoining
boutiques give warning of their style. Young designs
in vibrant colours are found in the pink house as well
as quirky gifts; fresh flowers, plants, and homewares

Châtenet buy up classy vintage clothing (think Pucci,
Hermès and Dior) and then transform it into modern
must-haves. Imagine embroidered kilts, favoured by

to-order outfit fashioned from a groovy old kimono.

The boutique-cum-living-room of Stella Cadente, alias
Ukranian-born designer Stanislassia Klein, was one of
the first to appear on this street that fronts the now-
trendy Canal St-Martin. Her dreamy, girly dresses,
beaded cardigans and coats lined with flashy colours
fit right in with the local, arty vibe.
