Make Up For Ever Professional
8 rue de la Boétie, 8ème • 01 53 05 93 30
www.makeupforever.fr Open 10-7 Mon-Sat
When make-up gurus Dany Sanz and Jacques Waneph
created this cosmetic range in 1984 it was strictly for
showbiz clients and modelling agencies. Today the
beauty emporium has widened its horizons and
distributes selectively to France's main department
stores. However, none can compete with this flagship
boutique, which features their whole range.
A veritable Ali Baba's cave of colour, this
showroom-cum-shop stocks everything from fake
tattoos to their signature Pan Cake foundation.
Beauty buffs will appreciate best-sellers such as
Palette 5 Crèmes de Camouflage, designed to hide
blemishes and scars, and Lip Plus Fixateur de Rouge
à Lèvres, which helps keep lipstick in place for hours.
Sanz and Waneph are also responsible for the latest
arrival on Paris's cosmetic circuit - the nearby Make
Up Forever Academy (8 rue de Liège, 01 53 05 93 43).

Résonances upscale home accessories
3 & 5 boulevard Malesherbes, 8ème • 01 44 51 63 70
www.resonances.fr Open 10-8 Mon-Sat
Walking into this bright and airy shop (one in a
chain), with its aproned staff, is a bit like entering a
time warp. However, while it might appear a little old-
fashioned, Résonances is anything but. A cross
between a bookshop, a DIY store and home-interiors
shop, the store carries a wide range of traditional
French wares updated for urban sophisticates.
There are accessories for every room: pint-sized
cups for that first-of-the-day coffee, ceramic butter
dishes and stainless-steel fruit presses for the
kitchen; a multitude of soaps, lotions and towels for
the bathroom; and cedar hangers and cushions for the
bedroom. In addition to cookbooks, there are interior-
design manuals that provide inspiration for
renovations (as well as plenty of DIY gadgets to help
them along), while wine buffs will appreciate a wall-
mounted corkscrew that defies being misplaced.
