famous taxidermist, now also owned by the Prince - all of this is for

Shadé big on style
63 rue des Sts-Pères, 6ème • 01 45 49 30 37
Open 11-7:30 Mon-Sat
Shadé is proof that size really doesn't matter. Despite
its miniscule proportions, this shop packs quite a
sartorial punch. Once inside - no easy task if there
are more than four people already browsing - you'll
be amazed at the array. Time passes quickly when
you're picking through such items as fetching, heart-
shaped silk bags with beaded appliqués and
shimmery tassels, or handmade velvet pouches
embroidered with silk flowers, many by imaginative
Brazilian designer Roberta. But this place is not just
about bags; with feathery hats, scarves, bustiers,
frou-frou skirts, Joe jeans and Converse sneakers also
on sale, women can pick up an entire outfit. Add an
umbrella with a flouncy frill, some jewellery - a
bracelet brimming with charms, a metallic heart on a
leather band or a sparkly choker - and voilà , you're
ready for any distraction that Paris has to offer.
