Once the creator of jewellery collections for Lacroix,
YSL and Gaultier, Hervé Van der Straeten now designs
his own furniture and jewellery. Almost exclusively
produced in 24-carat gold-plated brass, the latter
includes ornate necklaces and bracelets, and wafer-
thin pendant earrings inspired by blades of grass.

Opened in 1822 by a Parisian pharmacist specializing
in cod-liver oil, A L'Olivier was relaunched in 1978 as
a gourmet food store. The beautiful packaging of the
extensive selection of olive oils, flavoured oils and
organic vinegars would grace any shelf, and hampers
of Provençal specialities can be made up to order.

In business for 41 years, Diptyque is the original and
still the best when it comes to candles of distinction.
Devotees include Kristin Scott-Thomas (who favours
Shadow in the Water) and Donatella Versace (an
admirer of Fig Tree). This elegant and highly fragrant
store also sells scents and room sprays.
