Illicit parties are sometimes held in the miles of
tunnels beneath Paris, but the Catacombes, an
ossuary since 1785, are easier to get into. Visitors
stroll through subterranean corridors lined - often
artistically - with bones and skulls moved here from
overcrowded cemeteries of the period. Adm

Founder of the reputed Magnum photo agency, Henri
Cartier-Bresson intended this centre to house the bulk
of his work. At present, the affiliated museum hosts
three shows a year, occasionally including Bressons
work, but mostly that of exciting younger artists. Adm

Actually two museums, the exhibits here focus on two
French WWII heroes. Projected archive footage shows
the Liberation of Paris under Leclercq, his Free France
Forces and the Allies. Photographs and posters
