working space options (RGB, CMYK, Gray), as seen earlier. We
can establish a policy for RGB documents that is different from a
policy for CMYK or Grayscale documents. Otherwise, the policies
operate the same.
The warning check box :
Profile Mismatches: Ask When Opening .
Inform the user if the color space of the document being opened
doesn't match the color space set in the color settings.
2. When pasting data between documents in different color spaces;
for example, pasting data in Adobe RGB (1998) into a document
that is in ColorMatch RGB. When a user pastes some data from
one document into another document and both have the same
color space, the policies play no role.

Inform the user if the color space of the document being
copied and in the clipboard doesn't match the color space of the
document this data will be pasted in. This applies to drag and
drop as well as copy and paste.
3. The document being opened has no embedded profile. How
Photoshop should handle this assumption about this data and
whether Photoshop should warn you that the document is
untagged.
The warning check box:
Missing Profiles: Ask When Opening.
Inform the user if the document being opened doesn't have an
embedded profile. If no profile exists, Photoshop will warn us if
we have the Missing Profile check box warning applied. With this
information, we can decide how to handle our images (see the
sidebar, “Convert or Preserve?”).
If conditions 1, 2, or 3 are met, and if the optional warning check boxes
are applied, the user will be presented with a dialog asking what action
should be taken. The policies are the answers to those questions. If these
optional warnings are turned off, the policies selected will automatically
affect the document. The three polices are called Off , Preserve Embedded
Profiles , and Convert to Working (RGB/CMYK/Gray).
Color Management Policy Set to Off
Opening Documents When Color Management Policy is set to Off and
the Profile Mismatches warning is off, Photoshop will ignore a mismatch
between working space and document color space. For this reason, the
Off policy isn't recommended. When the Off policy is set, if a user opens
