There are cases where an instrument is the right tool for producing
an accurate and consistent measurement of colors when our eyes are
poor at this task. There are also times where the best instrument for
dealing with imagery is the two that sit on either side of your nose. No
matter how colorimetrically correct a color management system or
instrument is, don't always accept it as being correct if what you see isn't
what you want! Don't expect that a CMS will do everything you ask of
it, including folding the laundry.
