In-Depth Information
Stephen Wilkes
I met Stephen Wilkes about three years ago in New York when speaking
at the PhotoPlus Expo conference. Greg Gorman introduced us and we
hit it off immediately. I wanted to interview Stephen because of the high-
end caliber of advertising photography he produces for clients such as
American Express, Kodak, Nike, Sony, IBM, AT&T, and Epson. Stephen
has a tremendous body of fine-art work making him a perfect candidate
to discuss how he handles color management in both disciplines. Stephen
is one of the leading location photographers in the United States, recog-
nized for his editorial, advertising, and fine-art work. His work is in the
permanent collection of the Intentional Museum of Photography at
George Eastman House. Recent photographic documentation includes
the south side of Ellis Island, which helped raise six million dollars to
continue restoration of this historic site. These beautiful images and more
can be seen at http://www.stephenwilkes.com/main.html.
