that all processed files have the correct file extension. In addition to using
folders to assign what to process, iQueue also allows a user to set up a
desktop printer instead (with all the same options discussed). This would
allow a user to pick this printer, and in an application, “print” to the
queue instead of printing to an actual physical printer. This is useful in
two ways. First, for novice users, once a queue and printer are set up,
the user simply prints the document; however, instead of the data going
to a physical output device, the data is processed by iQueue.
The other way this is useful is for users who have printers that don't
understand color management in their drivers but who still need to
process huge volumes of files. This allows iQueue to be able to process
the data and then send that data directly to a printer instead of using a
destination folder by selecting the Output Printer instead of Output Folder
from the outgoing pop-up menu. The power of iQueue is making multi-
ple queues where one processed destination folder becomes a source hot
folder for another queue. For example, you could set up a group of
queues that would take a large group of images from a scanner or digital
camera, convert all those files into an RGB working space quickly, and
move the original files into an archive folder. Another queue could take
all the images in the working space and convert them to a printer space
for output as well as take the original files and convert them to JPEG in
sRGB for a web page. Queue upon queue can be used and set up, so all
original data is untouched and even saved in specific locations. The hard
part is figuring out how to set up all the various folders in the right order
and location; however once done, a large number of complex operations
can be produced by a monkey (or teenager) by simply moving the files
into the first hot folder. As a productivity tool, iQueue can really move
a great deal of data quickly and behind the scenes since hot folders can
be set to process the data whenever a new document is placed inside. For
