In-Depth Information
Fig. 8-23 The Light tool seen here shows how the F2(CWF) measured light source behaves with a CRI quality index on the left and the
spectral distribution curve on the right in red. Color temperature and luminance are also shown here plotted on top of a D50 light reading.
upon this Pantone color as R255/G64/B108. Also shown are the con-
verted LAB values L*49.4/a*62.4/b*33.5. The software also shows the
deltaE of this color from the original in four different calculations or alter-
nately, where on the CIELAB plot the colors fall. This is useful for meas-
uring or specifying colors and calculating the converted values in RGB or
CMYK using an output profile.
The Lighbox tool allows a user to load a color and see visually how
it would change its appearance based upon different illuminants. In other
words, again I can load Pantone Red 032 and see how it would appear
if viewed under D50 lighting compared to three additional light sources,
including any I measure using the Eye-One Pro Spectrophotometer. It's
useful to see how the illuminant affects the colors loaded in this tool.
Eye-One Share has an open architecture whereby GretagMacbeth regu-
larly builds new subtools. Eye-One Share runs under Mac OSX or
Windows. For more information see www.i1color.com.
