In-Depth Information
Fig. 8-14 The Gamut viewer in GamutWorks shows a 3D and 2D gamut map side by side, and the slider to the far right allows the user
to slice through the L axis. I have loaded the Printer Test File as well as a Matchprint profile and the gamut of the image is represented
by the small red dots in both gamut plots. An opacity slider allows individual profiles to be faded, making it easier to see how one profile
fits within the gamut of another.
Image Inspector
The Image Inspector area of GamutWorks allows images to be seen in a
preview window using four different options: two for soft proofing and
two for analysis of the image data. The image can be seen “as is” when
the Image radio button is selected. This preview is based upon the embed-
ded profile in the document allowing users who may not have Photo-
shop or an ICC-savvy application to see a correct preview. By clicking the
Soft Proof radio button, any available ICC profile can be used to soft proof
the image using the three rendering intent options in a pop-up menu.
An info palette below the radio buttons provides the output values when
the user moves the cursor over the image. The image can be zoomed in
or out providing full resolution preview capabilities.
