Fig. 7-13 The Photoshop
Save dialog is seen here.
The Proof Setup check box
becomes available only
when saving a Photoshop
PDF. By selecting the Proof
Setup , a conversion will
take place from the color
space of the document to
this Proof Setup color
space. Notice I can save
this as an untagged
document if I deselect the
Embed Profile check box.
Also, note that Photoshop
forces the Save a copy
option when this
conversion is requested so
the original file is not
overwritten.
there are many options they will have for providing the finished
composed page to the printer such as EPS, PDF, or native page layout
application.
One available option in Photoshop is saving a PDF or EPS file. Notice
the standard Photoshop Save dialog seen in Fig. 7-13. When you save a
Photoshop PDF, the currently selected Proof Setup profile can be selected
in a check box called Use Proof Setup . If you select this check box, the orig-
inal color space of the document will be converted into this color space.
For example, the document I am about to save is in Web Coated (SWOP)
v2. The current Photoshop Proof Setup is set using a profile for my Epson
2200. When I use the Format pop-up menu and ask for a Photoshop PDF
or EPS, this Use Proof Setup check box can be selected. A conversion will
take place on-the-fly as I save this document from U.S. Web Coated
(SWOP) v2 to Epson 2200.
