The main difference between InDesign and Photoshop is that InDe-
sign handles each element in a page separately. It's quite possible to have
one image tagged as Adobe RGB (1998), whereas another image sitting
right next to it could be in U.S. Web Coated (SWOP) v2. QuarkXPress's
color management is, depending on whom you ask, nearly unusable. It's
not my intent to spend time going into the specifics of how these and
other page layout applications work since there are topics and other ref-
erences available that do an admirable job of discussing the details.
I will suggest that you consider conducting all your color manage-
ment in Photoshop and then bringing those color-managed images into
the page layout application. The advantages of using Photoshop for these
tasks are several. You can view the images correctly at all zoom levels.
