In-Depth Information
In the years 1975-1976, a number of new more or less home-
built wind turbines appeared in the Danish landscape. Many of
them were built with parts from the older windmills or material
from scrap dealers. Studies were also made in the technology
of the historical Danish windmills and new technologies from
abroad. A popular handbook

published in the autumn of 1976 by Carl Herforth and Claus
Nybroe presented some of the new home-built wind turbines
and supplemented with knowledge of wind energy and basics
of aerodynamics, blade design, heat production and electricity
technology. It soon became a sort of “bible” for the new generation
of wind power pioneers.
