About the author
graduated from the Depart-
ment of Power Engineering of Shanghai
Jiaotong University in 1994 and got MBA from
Renmin University of China in 2003. Since
1998, he has been engaged in renewable
energy and has focused on policy and
technology research in terms of wind energy,
solar energy and other renewable energy
development.
Since 2004, taking CGC and CWEA as two major platforms,
he and his team have been working on wind power technology
standards development and improvement, as well as the
establishment of wind power equipment, solar water heater
and PV production certification systems in China. All the eforts
he and his team made are very favourable and supportive to
the rapid and sound development of the industry in China.
Currently, Mr Qin is secretary general of Chinese Wind Energy
Association (CWEA) and general director of China General Certifi-
cation Center (CGC). He is also board member of PV GAP, China
co-chair of ACORE, council member of China Renewable Energy
Society and deputy secretary general of the Technical Committee
of Wind Machinery Standardisation of China.
