of fact in those days the estimated 300 MW of wind power in
Germany was not reached.

What has this got to do with the Women's Wind Farm in Lübow?
Well, I had to put our investors into the picture immediately,
before the ground-breaking ceremony. What would happen if the
electricity industries filed suits were successful? Would we go
ahead with the construction of the Lübow Wind Farm? A few male
investors left us. The female investors were unanimous in saying
“Now more than ever!” So we went on with the construction!
Three of the four locations got a pillar foundation because
of partial permafrost in the soil. Respectively, two reinforced
concrete piles in each of the four foundations had to be rammed
11 m to 13 m into the ground. It was already dark, winter, cold, minus
9 degrees and a massive pile driver with a hardwood head and a
weight of 40 tons hailed down on the end of the first reinforced
concrete piles. The ground under me began to vibrate and the
hardwood head instantaneously caught fire. The storm pulled my
fur hat and I could not really see the dramatic fire spectacle. This
repeated itself so long until the calculated depth was reached.
The next morning the sun was shining, the snow glowing on
the field. And the extruding remains of the reinforced concrete piles
were being shortened with a pneumatic hammer by a worker from
the Danish supplier.
