I can especially remember a delegation of professors from
the United States, who had found the art wind farm on the internet
and then decided to visit us. Whoever “climbs” the wind farm,
receives a certificate. One professor confirmed to me that a large
part of “green investments” worldwide were made by women.
Especially women climb the wind turbines.

The Justice of the German Electricity
Industry
In December 995, the day of the ground-breaking ceremony
was approaching. Late in the evening a fax with two attachments
arrived in my office. “Dear Ms Schmidt, help me!” was the first
sentence. What had happened?
The operator of a wind power plant near the town of Güstrow
in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern had received a letter from energy
supplier WEMAG Schwerin with approximately the following
content: “The German electricity feed-in law is in our opinion
unconstitutional. We have filed a suit. Should we win then you have
to pay the complete money back to us which we have paid you
for the electricity (…)” There were two signatures, one of which
was Berthold Fege's. I have remembered his name since later, after
the WEMAG had dismissed him, he became a member of the
organisation Solar Initiative Mecklenburg-Vorpommern e.V. which
I founded in 997. A letter with the same content was sent by the
WEMAG to the bank financing the operator of the wind energy
park.
I immediately forwarded the documents to Dr Hermann
Scheer, President of the European Renewable Energy Association,
EUROSOLAR, and member of the German parliament, who then in
a letter to the WEMAG made it clear that Germany is not a Banana
Republic, and that the electricity feed-in law was approved in
parliament.
The WEMAG apologised; the filed suit was decided on 10 years
later against the German electricity industry. This, however, did
not stop the electricity industry filing a further suit against the next
renewable energy law (EEG). This incident lead to a huge campaign
of uncertainty stretching from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to
