Denker-Wulf Group. By that time the prototype of a 1.2 MW turbine,
based on the Genesys system (DDPM), was nearly completed and
was installed in 2003 in the north of the Saarland. Despite a fire
in the nacelle caused by a condensator battery explosion, interest
in the licence was still big that year. Wu Gang, president of
Goldwind, Science and Technology, Urumqi, China,
acquired the first
licence and manufactured it. More than 8000 up-scaled 1.5 MW
turbines came into successful operation until the end of 2012
(Fig. 19.9).

In that way advantages of the DDPM concept were faster
recognised by China than by the rest of the world. Other licences
have been contratcted to Czech Republic (CkD), Brazil (Impsa wind),
India (ReGen Powertech), Spain (Eozen) and in 2011 to Egypt
(AOI).
