The previously mentioned examples are just few out of many
innovations. Generally, German wind turbines are very popular
among foreign investors. They are praised for their reliability,
economic viability, safety and pleasant design. All of which are a
result of permanent research of the past and visions of the future.

A Strong Support Program
The 100 MW federal support program of 1989 was the first very
successful step into a larger utilisation of wind energy. Hence, it
was extended to 250 MW. Some German states ofered further
incentives and subsidies to accelerate wind development. Such
