In-Depth Information
In the story of DeWind, the financial situation was troubled
for a couple of times. DeWind was listed on the stock market. In
2002, the British company FKI bought all DeWind shares and
strongly influenced the further development. Few years later, FKI
lost its interest and DeWind was sold to another British/Indian
company called EU Energy/Shiram. In mid-2006, the American
Composite Technology Corporation took over the DeWind turbine
business. However, another change was made when in 2009, the
South Korean Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME)
acquired 100% of DeWind.

Fuhrländer: 1990-2012
Fuhrländer originally was founded by a local smith Theo Fuhrländer
in the early 1960s and was located at Waigandshain, central
Germany. The son, Joachim Fuhrländer, got in contact with wind
energy in the 1980s in northern Germany. After discovering wind
turbines manufactured by Windkraftzentrale (WKZ), Fuhrländer
seriously thought about entering the young wind energy market
that seemed to ofer a good future prospect. When WKZ stopped
all activities in 1990, Fuhrländer took over what was left. The 25 kW
Elektromat turbine, a WKZ development, was developed further.
