For the permission to install a small wind turbine the following
documentation is required by the local authorities: Power perfor-
mance test, durability test, and acoustic sound test (noise) as well
as some requirements of proximity to existing buildings, taking into
consideration the neighbours.
Danish Legislation of 4 June 2010 defines following categories
of household windmills:
• Maximum 25 m to blade tip;
• Maximum 6 kW for net-metering (electric meter reverses)
and up to 40 m

swept area;
• Maximum 25 kW generator size and to 200 m
swept area.
In Denmark there are various types of small wind turbines
approved by the Danish Energy Agency, fulfilling requirements
such as safety, duration test, power performance test, acoustic
sound test, maintenance manual in Danish language.
Approved small wind turbines in Denmark by 2012:

(1) Up to 5 m
swept area there are ca. 10 diferent types

(2) In the second category, with 5 to 40 m
swept area eight types
got approved:
• Evance Wind (English) 5 kW
• Windspot (Spanish) 3,5 kW
• Vindby (English) 1 to 2 kW
• Easy Wind (German) 6 kW
• Eco Wind (Scottish) 6 kW
