About the author
, born in 937, grew up
in Korinth Fyn, and is now living in Kastrup,
Denmark. He completed a four-year
apprenticeship as a mechanic at Thomas
B. Thrige, manufacturer of electric motors
and equipments in Odense, Denmark. He
then completed his engineering education
in Helsingborg, Sweden.
Following his education, Jørgen
worked on new machine room insta-
llations for the shipping industry in Germany and Sweden, and
was involved in planning the installation of stationary diesel
power plants for B&W, a former Danish diesel motor factory
which manufactured large diesel motors. From 979 he was
employed at the test station for Windmills, Research Centre, Risø,
Denmark, for more than 5 years and from where he retired
in 004. In Risø, he was involved in setting up the new test
station to develop wind energy.
Jørgen is also member of a number of ecology groups, including
OVE, ØKO RA and their windmill sub-group, and other eco groups
and has worked with the ØKO RA windmill sub-group, where
he designed two windmills with water brakes and published
construction reports for windmill builders. He has developed a
solar furnace for use in developing countries and developed and
patented two diferent types of the micro hydro JK turbine. The
first of these turbines project was sold to Vestas.
Jørgen participated in the wave energy project, Wave Dragon,
and is still active.

He is one of the founding members of the governing
board in ESHA, European Small Hydropower Association.
As a pensioner, he is still active in a number of diferent
innovative
activities
related
to
renewable
energy
and
other
forward-looking ideas.
