The 75 kW wind turbine was installed close to the medieval town
of Ærøskøbing near the beach of the Funen archipelago. The
annual production figures proved to be significantly better than
anticipated which encouraged Dencon to follow the trend of making
bigger wind turbines.
Again it was the Folkecenter design team that supported
Dencon. This time the integrated gearbox was delivered from
Finnish Kumera with a low profile design that gave the nacelle of the
new 200 kW wind turbine a very elegant appearance. The prototype
with lattice tower was installed on Ærø launching the AeroStar
12 m blade. This was soon followed a series production of Dencon
well-designed new wind turbine using conical towers and LM
blades. Dencon wind turbines were installed in many parts of
Denmark.
