12 diferent authorities for permission (yes, it was 12). All of them
said yes, except for the Ministry of Energy, where the ministerial
director, Michael Lunn was manipulated by the major electricity
companies to manipulate the Minister of Energy Sven Erik
Houmand, to send it to a long-term committee for killing the idea.
About 0 years later, the project was recalled by the Copenhagen
renewable energy organisation, and then the wind was blowing in
a more friendly direction. The way this was handled by the
ministry was very bad for Vind-Syssel, but because of the technical
development it was good for Copenhagen, because Vind-Syssel
would have put 200 kW units, and now the size has increased
to 2 MW.

Vind-Syssel Finally Closed in 1990
After losing the California deal, and postponing the Copenhagen
project, Vind-Syssel was again in a financially weak position, and
we had to go back to the investors and ask for additional capital.
This resulted in a conflict between me as the MD, and the investors.
I decided to sell my shares for some small money and leave Vind-
Syssel. My sales manager was instated as the new MD, but a
few months later Vind-Syssel was declared bankrupt, and it was
not reconstructed this time.
The technology and the organisation of Vind-Syssel were in
many ways new and progressive, and there were many victories
during the five years of existing, but the low capital base caused
problems right from the beginning.
When Vestas went bankrupt, it was reconstructed with more
than DKK 00 million from the major Danish workers organisation
foundation, LD. When WindWorld was close to collapse, it was
supported by its owners with DKK 50 million. Vind-Syssel was
originally established with less than DKK million, and later
reconstructed with DKK 4 million, which was not enough for
selling and manufacturing units, priced about DKK million and
more. However, as they say, the bumblebee cannot fly, but it does
it anyway—so we tried to fly with Vind-Syssel. We did 50 beautiful
units. By 203, some of them are still there at the same spot, some
have been moved to other destinations.
As for all the pioneers, our road was filled with holes, but the
wind is always blowing, and I will never regret.
